Finally! A blog post. Well, the end of the year is approaching fast and in this twilight world that is jammed between Christmas and New Year’s celebrations – as usual – I’ve got too much time for things that I thoroughly enjoy.
Things like waking up and having a fresh ground coffee (yes, I poured water over it) and surfing through recorded fragments of reality of a very digital fashion. And as I looked and as I travelled through the digital realm, I thought – why not waddle through them, pick and choose and show the people what I’ve found.
So sit back and enjoy, grab a coffee or a Pinot Grigio, if you must, because due to a surprising and unforeseen shortage of days that are left this year, this leads only to a TOP THREE DIGITAL FRAGMENTS OF THE YEAR 2022. This of course includes my very own analogue kerfuffle, reformatted to digital as well.
No. 3
a late entry, that I was only made aware of yesterday.
The beauty of this, at times lengthy monologue, is the essence, of what it stands for.
I was once known as somebody who likes „experts“ or „professionals“ ( no, not that kind). This video shows brilliantly why I still regard the opinion, knowledge and wisdom of experts in a high regard. In this video, a classical music instrumentalist is analysing music she’s not familiar with. She is not only patient enough to listen to it in depth, but she even does additional research after she admitted to not fully understanding the meaning of the lyrics or how they fit into the overall composition. I could go on about the references between classical music and heavy metal, but that’s beside the point.
What’s fascinating is, that this woman did not dismiss something she was not familiar with, but instead she was intrigued and thus tried to learn more about something BECAUSE she was not familiar with it.
That’s what you get with people who know their shit. Because there is a reason, that they know their shit. Call it curiosity, call it childlike and innocent joy to learn something new. It is a trait that I enjoy most and regard as one of the most important ones when it comes to human behaviours. Please never let your inner child die! Not deep, but beautiful.
